Master's of Human Resources Development?
Currently I have a MA in HRD "Human Resources Development. The job market for HR Managers/Directors seems very limited. I am considering enrolling in a MBA program to enhance my current graduate degree. What do you think or any recommendation on better chance for employment with current MA?

i have the same degree, only mine is an MS. my advice would be to go sit for your PHR or SPHR through SHRM. i find companies place more weight on a professional certification than an advanced degree. good luck.

MA in International Relations & Human Resources
MA in International Relations & Human Resources?
I'd like to hear from some of you who have either a MA in Int. Relations or HR. What did you study? Some examples of courses would be good. I have looked at uni sites, but I'd like some first hand info. What do you do now? Was it worth spending the money? How much and where? Would you recommend your school? Thank you The more details, the better, especially on the courses, workload, tests and final projects. If you can't answer, star it if you think any of your contacts might be able to help. Thanks again ;-)

Should I pursue an MA in School Counseling or MS in Human Resources
Should I pursue an MA in School Counseling or MS in Human Resources?
I have been in HR for three years now. I have my BS in HRD. I am not sure I want to continue my education and career in Human Resources. I have always pictured myself in an academic setting, but I'm not sure teaching is for me. I feel I would enjoy a School Counseling role and it would blend many of the attributes of my job that I DO like while also providing some flexibility in hours and a better environment.

They say to go with one's passion. 'If you love what you do, you'll never have to work a day in your life' :) If not interested in HR, perhaps consider moving towards the field that would bring fulfillment. The main glitch with school counseling is whether there is a job market with so many guidance counselors staying in their jobs until retirement ;) I'm not certain if one still needs a teaching degree as well as the counselor training though here are a couple of sites for more info: http://www.bls.gov/oco and can search 'counselors' or such. http://www.schoolcounselor.org

I want to pursue a PhD in Germany (where I live now), but I have no idea where to begin looking. Do they offer financial aid? Will my degree be worth anything back in the US? I'm in central Germany, and I don't want much of a commute.
