My recommendation is to send your resume to Phillip Dana he specializes in placing the military. You can find him on linked In, or send your resume to him directly at danapm@aol.com. Good Luck!

Is there any value in getting an MBA or Master's in Human Resources? I think I need more HR training
Is there any value in getting an MBA or Master's in Human Resources? I think I need more HR training?
I'm a corporate recruiter with about 7 years experience. Most of my experience has been recruiting for financial services firms. Unfortunately I just recently got laid off due to the terrible state of the financial markets. I would like to move in to other areas of HR but I am not qualified for them because I only really have recruiting experience and no other formal training or experience in other areas of HR. What worries me if that no one is hiring at the moment and they are projecting 2009 is supposed to be worse than 2008 – and if that is the case, a lot of companies will not be hiring a lot and hence will not need recruiters. Plus with the markets and economy being what it is and with the number of candidates there are out on the market looking for jobs (who I am technically competing against for jobs), would I be smart to take the next 2 years and get a graduate degree? Is there any value added in getting a Masters or MBA in Human Resources? I have heard several people say it might not be worth my time and money as you do not need an MA or MBA to work in HR, so I wonder if it is worth it or not. So – what do I do? Do I…. 1) Continue to apply for recruiting jobs in this downturn economy and hope that someone somewhere gives me an interview and possibly even a job offer? 2) Take a big cut in salary and title (which I can afford to do luckily) and start from scratch looking for (and possibly taking) an HR Coordinator/Jr. Generalist or another entry HR type role where I can learn a new facet of HR from the ground up? 3) Or should I sink my time and money into getting an MA or MBA in HR? A lot of people argue it is not necessary to get a graduate degree in HR and that you can learn everything on the job. Any thoughts? THANKS!!!!

From everything i've heard, recruiting is a dead end. Now is a great time to reevaluate but blindly getting another degree isn't your answer. If HR is your thing, then start learning more about it, round out your skills, and set yourself up for when the economy turns around

Yes a masters degree would be good and in today's market the best. I have heard and seen that now people are wanting people with a masters degree in their area or 3 to 4 years experience. You have 7 that's great!! You have experience in one area of HR, now why not try to get a Masters in perhaps another area of HR. That will make you look better and greatly improve your chances of getting a job and moving up the ladder to a much higher job within HR. You see what I mean? You have 7 years experience which looks great in recruiting, now how about getting a masters in HR in the area of say education and development. That would make you at least twice as likely to get a good job and you will open many more doors. Best of luck to you! You I'm sure already know about this website but if not or if you have forgotten it, it has some good info on the HR industry. http://www.shrm.org/

Many people think that the MBA consists of majors or concentrations that give you in depth training in a specific field. The degree Master of Business Administration is not the same as Master of Science. The MBA is a general broad degree covering a wide variety of business issues and training students for careers in managing any area of business up to CEO. MBA students study accounting, finance, marketing, statistics, management, economics, strategy, policy, leadership and similar courses. The MBA was developed because people with technical backgrounds getting promoted into management are not always able to manage, and people in management often don't understand the technical fields they manage. That's why MBA programs prefer students with degrees in other than business and with 2-4 years of work experience. Their graduates learn to manage and can speak the language of the people they manage, whether that is engineering, chemistry, medicine, music, or any other field. The MS is a degree that concentrates study in a specific field, such as finance, accounting, electrical engineering, biology, or chemistry and trains students for careers in high level staff positions often involving research. Many MBA programs offer concentrations, but this usually amounts to 2-3 elective courses in a specific field in the second year of the program. Thus an MBA in marketing may amount to a student taking Market Research, Advertising, and Consumer Behavior as a marketing concentration, while a finance concentration may mean courses in Business Mergers, Security Analysis, and Cost Accounting. Instead of a concentration, an MBA student may opt to take a broad range of electives in Production, Accounting, Marketing, Human Resource Management and other areas in order to broaden his background rather than concentrating in a single area. Before you consider which MBA program is for you, consult the Official MBA Guide, a comprehensive free public service with more than 2,000 MBA programs listed worldwide. It allows you to search for programs by location (US, Europe, Far East, etc.), by concentration (finance, marketing, aviation management, health management, accounting, etc.), by type of program (full-time, distance learning, part-time, etc), and by listing your own criteria and preferences to get a list of universities that satisfy your needs. You can use the Guide to contact schools of your choice, examine their data, visit their web site, and send them pre applications. You can see lists of top 40 schools ranked by starting salaries of graduates, GMAT scores, and other criteria. It's the best service available at http://officialmbaguide.org.

For starters, you need to decide exactly what type of career path you would like to take. I would recommending tailoring your resume accordingly. I would also visit job websites such as Yahoo Hot Jobs, Careerbuilder.com, & Monster.com. You can not only search job listings, you can actually have them email you listings daily, weekly or as often as you choose based on the criteria you set. Post your resume on those sites (as well as any other ones you feel would be helpful) as soon as you can. In the mean time, you can have the emails coming in so that you can see what your prospects look like. If there are any specific companies that you know of which may offer positions of interest to you, I would recommend checking their websites; they'll usually have a "careers" section you can look into for available jobs with them. Above all, don't give up or become discouraged if you don't find something right away. You may need to apply to several jobs, & even go on a few interviews before you land something. As long as you keep trying, you'll find the position that is right for you. By the way, on a personal note, thank you for your service to our country. I hope this is helpful to you.

HOLOCAUST: Clash of so-called Superiorities
HOLOCAUST: Clash of so-called Superiorities?
Does it happend during a religious war? No! Hitler created racial superiority in Germans for the gain of world resources & Land. He was not engaged in any religious war! Then why it happend!!!! Jews always cry for Holocaust but forget their Holy wars and mas-genocide of millions of innocent gentile and selecting vergin women and girls over 3 years for ....what? Just merely for a piece of land!!!! Capturing lands & resources cannot be maintained forever!!! Where is the promised land? It is still a disputed Arab-land because it is given to Pelestenans. God is Almighty: the only Superior being! HE dislikes the idealogy of human superiority to maintain a balance in human socities & cultures. It was a curse...punishment from God! Try to understand & seek God Will !!! Submit idealogy of superiority! and live in peace!!!

Muslims believe exactly the same thing, so in your own argument look at your own people for the punishment from God Peace be upon you neither is right

I agree with all that you have said except that god cursed us with idealogy.God gave us free will as human beings and man brought this on himself not all men but some like hitler .The answer lies with peace harmony equality for all but i doubt this will ever happen until jesus returns .May god bless you and keep you forever .Amen

Actually the land of Israel was given to them by the Lord our God when He delivered them out of slavery in Egypt. It was written that The Lord our God would restore them to the promised Land. from whence He had driven them. But you should look at your own nation, which doesnt always obey the Lord our God either. Did you know that Hitler's mother was Jewish?

Can cult-like chanting of "Hope!", "Change!" clean the oil spill
Can cult-like chanting of "Hope!", "Change!" clean the oil spill?
(Have any of you guys seen this? I think it's effin' brilliant! So I thought I'd share it) IDEA: HOW TO SOLVE THE OBABASPILL IN GULF DISASTER - HAVE HIS CULTISTS HEAD TO THE GULF AND CHANT "HOPE!", "CHANGE!" AT IT IN CANDLELIT VIGILS BENEATH STRYOFOAM PILLARS. Here's another commerical we'd love to see the RNC or Tea Party people run. Please feel free to take any of these ideas and run with them, as we don't have the capability to do this stuff ourselves, and wish we had acces to the equipment, funding and the resources to pull this off. As we think of things, we put them out there, and it's our intent for those of you out there reading with connections to just run with this. We'd love to see a commercial made, for both YouTube and TV runs, where the thousands of bleary-eyed, zombified Obama cultists chanting "Hope! Change! O-Ba-ma!" are superimposed over images of the Gulf shoreline and Obamaspill disaster. They are holding candles. They are delivering homage unto their Lightbringer. The stryofoam columns and faux-Olumpian set from Obama's Denver Convention acceptance speech have returned, and are planted in the waters of the Gulf, like a petroleum-slicked Atlantis. On the shore, toes tickled by rainbow swirling water, the cultists chant: HOPE! CHANGE! O-BA-MA! O-BA-MA! O-BA-MA! We think the American public needs to be reminded of the insanity of 2008 that got us to where we are today. Someone needs to establish that intellectual and psychological link between the personality cult of Obama and the Media fueled in the campaign, and the man in the Oval Office who was elected because so many were conned into believeing his lack of experience or record didn't matter, because his personal charm and individual magic were enough to overcome anything that he faced in the world's most important and difficult job. All those hours they spent chanting to get him elected, all huddled together, like the fools that they are...needs to be remembered by the public at large and exposed for the bufoonery it was. Can their chants solve this disaster in the Gulf? Can their hope and change save the day? Let's ask the public to think about this...and for the cultists themselves to question what exactly "Hope" and "Change" mean for situations like the one we are faced with now? We were promised a LIghtbringer sent from the stars who would come to Earth so solve all of our problems. The Nobel Prize Committee affirmed his lunacy by awarding Obama what was supposed to be the planet's highest honor...and they based their decision on the mere fact he said "Hope" and "Change" a lot and they thought this was a marvelous plan, deserving of an award that was not granted to some of the greatest human beings who have ever lived. So, Obama's received so many accolades, and has been crowned by laurels extensively. He became, to his cult, a demigod. Now is the time for him and his followers to produce the magic we were promised. Someone needs to get on television, YouTube, and other vusual media and start putting these visuals out there. We sure would, if we could, but at least we can provide the idea. (It's a pisser, ain't it?)

Should I go into MBA
Should I go into MBA?
I majored communication studies. But, I feel that I might waste my time and money if I continue my education in communication studies. Honestly, I do not think that having a MA in humanities or social science will not lead me to a career I want unless I want to teach. I want to be a business woman. I am interested in a human resource or management position. Should I go into MBA? There is a major called organizational communication, but I think that communication studies is for more like academic career such as teaching than business. I prefer to earn decent money. Since I am not a native English speaker, I am so worried about passing GMAT. I am planning to take some math classes. Can you give me some advice?

There are schools that dont put a lot of weight on the GMAT exam. You should definitely get your MBA degree and start doing internship in the field. Good Luck ok. ss
