1. Way to long - it needs to one page. 2. 1st paragraph is full of wordy jargon - get rid of it. 3. Tailor your resume for the company that you are sending it to. What kind of experience do you have that they looking for? If they are are a marketing company say what kind of sales and leadership you actually performed instead of saying "sales and leadership". 4. Limit the banking job to one or two lines since the banking job isn't pertinent to the sales and marketing job. Hope this helps

You are great. Your resume is hard to understand. Attempts to impress are boastful instead of factual. First paragraph is a waste of time. Throw it out. Abbreviate or eliminate half of the rest and then you'll have room for some hard-hitting bits. Directors and managers that are looking at a stack of resumes want creativity. Tell some experiences (limit to one line) that show yours. Substance. Real work. Results. Money or time saved. Profit earned. Ideas that you invented. "Oversaw" "Prospected" "Responsible for" "Involved in"??? Dump those and tell the results of your efforts. Paint a picture with words that will bring you in for an interview. Then don't be discouraged. "Nobody" has hired you yet because you haven't talked to everybody. Somebody will hire you. Guaranteed.

What educational and work experience should one have to seek employment in higher education administration?
college or university level employment jobs such as in following depts: athletic, admissions, development, recruiting, publications, human resources, etc. I would be interested in most jobs at the college level. I have a BS in business and MA in education.

It looks like your credentials are at least in the right direction, but depending on what you're looking for, you may need more than that. If you're looking for a general-purpose kind of position like HR or PR, this is not an academic position and you can probably apply for those directly. But things like admissions, recruiting, and administration will require some showing of a desire to be a part of the academy as such. This could be done by spending some time in a support position at a university, or by getting a masters in higher education administration. But as you already have an MA, you're probably looking to get a job, not another degree. I wouldn't probably waste too much time on the athletics positions. If you really wanted to do that, you'd already know whether or not you're qualified and how to get those jobs. The people who are eligible already know who they are.

does it matter if i go into a completely different rate in the NAVY than what i'll be commisioned for in awhil

does it matter if i go into a completely different rate in the NAVY than what i'll be commisioned for in awhil?
i want to start my navy career asap, so im going in enlisted first as e3, and simultaneously put in my OCS pachage. I want to go in enlisted as MA, but when i get commisioned i want to go in Supply or Human Resources---a completely different area/job/. Will this matter or do I HAVE to go in enlisted as what ill eventually be doing on the officer side? thanks!

Ummm. . . . you have to have a 4 year degree to go in as an officer. You would not be able to drop an OCS package right when you enlist either. It will be a minimum of 2-3 years before you'll even be able to think about an OCS package.

It doesn't matter. One of the gals I worked with was enlisted as a Disbursing Clerk(money managing) but she was selected for training to become an officer in Nursing. Oh, and she had been enlisted in the Navy for 4 years at that point and was an E-5. There is a selection process that goes along with going from enlisted to officer, you could very well be passed up for commissioning and serve as enlisted your entire time.

Junior Navy officers can't just go into supply or human resources, you only really get to choose special warfare, aviation, SWO, or subs... All the lat transfers happen later. So the short answer is no, what you'll be doing enlisted is definitely not what you'll be doing on the officer side. That said, if you enlist there's a tiny tiny chance you'll ever become an officer (you and everyone else wants to switch over, huge competition)

MBA: Masters in Business Administration MA: Master of Arts MSc: Master of Sciences

MA and MS are academic degrees. You can stop after these degrees or go on for a PhD. MS is in the sciences while MA is in the arts. A master's in finance would be an MS, not an MA. The MBA is a terminal degree that is meant to be more practical and less theoretical than an MA or MS. The best MBA programs are in the US (actually about 18 out of the top 20 programs are in the US). BusinessWeek and US News & World Reports both rank B-Schools. You can view those rankings on their web pages. In my opinion, the best MBA programs are: Wharton, University of Chicago, MIT, Stanford, Duke, Northwestern, Tuck, Harvard and Columbia
