I have a BA in Human Resources. I am currently getting a MA in Teaching to teach elementary, I will graduate May 2011. I wish I would have chosen a liberal arts major. I think I want another Bachelor's in American Studies when I'm done with this Master's. My career is focused on education reform and the achievement gap. Will getting the American Studies bachelor's put me in a good position to pursue a PhD in the future or go to law school? I feel like that is what I want to do but I don't know if it's weird or regressive to get a Bachelor's after getting a master's. I think I want to do it because I regret my major, that it's not liberal arts and American Studies is highly recommended for urban teachers.

Getting another Bachelor's would be a huge waste of time and money. The only reason to get another bachelor's is if you are able to secure a position with a college or university -that doesn't offer a Masters or PhD program-and take classes for free, otherwise you're far better off spending your tuition money on a Master's Degree.

why would you want a liberal arts major? all employees say it gives you no plusses, maybe a technical one If you want a phd, talk to the university, I don't think they would object to human resources (which is human science also)
